How the Volvo EX60 filters cabin air before a drive
Volvo’s US manual for the 2027 EX60 explains when cabin air purification runs and what the PM2.5 reading in the app tells the driver.
What happens while the car is parked
Volvo describes a pre-drive cleaning cycle in its US documentation for the 2027 EX60. The driver can start it in the Volvo Cars app. It also runs automatically after preconditioning ends. Fresh air passes through the filter and air recirculates in the cabin until the system reaches its air-quality target.
During the cycle the driver can follow the concentration of fine particles, reported as PM2.5, in the app. The display describes the air in the passenger compartment at that moment. It does not give the replacement element’s efficiency at a specified airflow.
What the parts counter still needs
Consider a buyer who sends a screenshot of the PM2.5 display and asks for “the EX60 purifier”. First establish whether the request is for a replacement cabin element or for help with the pre-cleaning function. The owner documentation explains the function but does not identify an orderable element in that section.
For an element enquiry, record the vehicle’s market and model year and confirm the reference in the appropriate parts catalogue. A cabin PM2.5 reading alone also gives no measurement of gas adsorption or remaining filter life.
